March 23, 2006"The air is full of spices"Tuesday, I introduced my mother to Mecca in the land of the silent "C", I made my first pilgrimage to a Penzey's store. As soon as I opened the door, delicious waves of every spice imaginable danced onto my olfactory sensors. It was potent, but not in the way of a Yankee Candle store is where your sense stops detecting anything. On top of every shelf, a covered jar of a spiced sat labeled for your nose's pleasure. Your mind immediately starts concocting a recipe for chicken with rogan josh curry with jasmine rice or chicken with curry, coconut milk and lemon grass, or vegetables roasted with more peppercorns you knew existed. My basket became full of wonderful indian spices and everyday spices that my spice cupboard needed replenished. I dropped down a good deal of cash but considering I bought 23 jars of spices, it was indeed a good deal. Take this McCormick and your stupid, overpriced, low-grade spices. 06:58 AM
CommentsI think if I went there I would be touching myself in inappropriate places... can I come drool over your spice rack? Posted by: Martini Mambo Post a comment
