April 15, 2005Exhaustive expectationsThe complications of being promoted is that more meetings are expected of you. Meetings with no agenda are like an ADD daycare with not ritalin. There's no focus whatsoever. Time is wasted, rampages breakout, and you still walk back to the desk with that damn monkey dancing on it. It was my first year that I was invited to attend the big dinner, I did work through it, taking pictures as usual. But our culinary team is first in the state and soon enough we'll find out how they rank in the country. Last night's dinner has to be the best dinner I've ever had in my entire life. If I ever tire of this web thing, I am going to be a chef.
April 03, 2005VacacionWell, this year's annual spend time with mom vacation wasn't necessarily a bust, but more busy than chill. I left on Wednesday morning to the land of the silent "c" and upon entry of the city, abducted my sister's cat. I love the b. I spent a day in the casino's donating my money to their organization so that some lucky fuck can go home and pamper his/her self. My sister brought us to a Malaysian restaurant which was phenomenally delicious. Unfortunately, I believe there are no such places in the area. It reminds me somewhat of thai. I attempted Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs) and ended up making goth eggs after my first attempt. I now have more admiration for those beautifully crafted eggs, they are time consuming, difficult, and often invoke cussing like a sailor. A trip to IKEA was quite prosperous, a new piece of furniture was purchased that'll make the dining room have a more zen feel than random fiberboard furniture placements. Due to wrestlemania this evening, the project of putting it together is put off until tomorrow evening. I've been so out of touch with my email and correspondence that I'm going to have to play catchup for the next week. I do, however, know that the Pope is dead. I watched many hours of Pope Watch and Pope-vision thanks to my devout mother. The cutest thing was when she came home from the store this morning with all the papers with his death story on the cover. The one good thing about the Pope's death is that it knocked that damn Terri Schiavo out of the news. For that I say, Hallelujah!
