One weekend to go, please

It seems that during the time when classes are in session, weekends seem often like fastfood. We contemplate what we're going to order up, but once we have decided what we're going to ingest, it's been deilvered and consumed faster than its existence.

Saturday, I had volunteered for my job to take pictures of a tourneyment which then I will post on the intranet tomorrow, the thankless job of the webmaster. Fortunately for me, bad weather prevailed on Friday ensuring me an early leave to finish up the second assignment in my javascript class and some quality time with Kristian - a very rare occurrence indeed.

Friday night was a most excellent trip to Mahar's, the usual Friday night crowd in attendence. Something that I have been missing in a couple of weeks. You never truly appreciate something until you no longer have it. That something is quality time spent with very good friends and very good beer. The weather, quite similar to a schizophrenic, was raining after a good icing. I welcomed the rain with the fact that I was able to shed my coat for the first time in many months.

Not quite determined to call it an early evening, seeing as such as I had to wake up at 7:30 the next morning, Mer, John, & I ventured over to Susie's. Rick informed me of the screening time of Bubba Ho-Tep and I marked it down in my mental planner. I never thought that I would make the early show time, but I skedaddled out of the tourney early enough to meet up with Rick and catch the awesomeness that is Bruce Campbell.

Today, I did laundry. I singlehandedly created a dinner meal with the very few ingredients lying around in our fridge that hadn't turned sour, ugly, or hairy. I created zucchini stew, because it's more of a stew than a soup, but if you asked the Irish, it was more of a tree-hunging granola soup. And speaking of granola, I made oatmeal with blackberries this morning. It was the first time that I actually enjoyed my oatmeal.

Now after 1.5 hours of Sex and the City, being a little saddened at the end of an era, I am wishing for my weekend back to include all the activities that I have done, but feeling a little down on myself for not choosing my activities wisely. I never accomplished homework, and I'm still sans computer. What kind of programmer doesn't have a fully functional fast machine that doesn't take eons to load up solitaire?

Our mutual appreciation for the genius of Bruce Campbell may ostracize us from the rest of society, but honestly, who really needs society?

Oh, and I owe you a few beers for that ticket - many thanks for the quick resolution to my ATM woes.

What a great analogy about weekends! And I so agree with you on paragraph three. I can't wait until after inventory week when I may be able to actually 1) take a day off and 2) not work 9 am til 1 am shifts.

am so bloody tired.
