May 26, 2003These people are full of BlarneyGreetings from rainy Ireland. I'm currently in an internet cafe in Killarney writing a post. Thus far, I've learned one thing, that the irish are full of blarney. If they say something is right next to something or right down the road, they mean it's probably at least a mile away. I am completely confused by the palm trees, how did these end up in this country? Can someone explain it for me? I've only had one bowl of Irish Stew, sorry John. I've had 6 pints thus far. 4 Smithwicks, a harp, and a murphys. I totally dig Smithwick's. Done some shopping, did a lot of swearing as we got lost. Looked a lot at pretty landscapes. This is the most schizophrenic weather I've ever experienced, it's raining, it's sunny, it's raining, it's cloudy, it's sunny, it's breezy, it's raining, it's sunny. I can't complain though, it's as beautiful rainy and foggy as it is sunny. So we've been to Shannon, Bunratty, Cork, Kinsale, Blarney, Killarney, the Ring of Kerry. 03:48 PM
CommentsGod, I loved Smithwicks. It has to be my favorite red lager. :) Hope you have fun! If you're in Dublin, head to the Temple Bar district and go to the Bad Ass Cafe for pizza. Its fun! Posted by: forvrin at May 26, 2003 04:53 PM we loved the smithwick's in ireland too and actually were crazy psyched when we found it on tap in montreal last weekend. glad to hear that you are having a good time..and eat more irish stew :) Posted by: mersidotes at May 27, 2003 08:12 AM OI OI OI!!!!!!! You mean they import it? I don't care if I can't find it on tap. But find out if there's a bottler here or in the great white north. I MUST HAVE MY SMITHWICKS! :P Posted by: forvrin at May 27, 2003 10:10 AM WOOO---INTERNET CAFE! DRINK MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE. ONly SIX PINTS SINCE THRUS???? *SCREAMS*
Posted by: Groundzero at May 27, 2003 11:12 AM as i learned yesterday for those inquiring about smithwick's, it is not imported to the US. apparently the same importer that brings over harp from ireland handles smithwick's. they think if they bring both over there will be too much competition for harp, so smithwick's not available in the US, but it's ALL over the place in canada. and yes, they had bottles. whether this is true or not, i dunno, but my source is a man that is very serious about beer, so i believe it.
