May 26, 2003These people are full of BlarneyGreetings from rainy Ireland. I'm currently in an internet cafe in Killarney writing a post. Thus far, I've learned one thing, that the irish are full of blarney. If they say something is right next to something or right down the road, they mean it's probably at least a mile away. I am completely confused by the palm trees, how did these end up in this country? Can someone explain it for me? I've only had one bowl of Irish Stew, sorry John. I've had 6 pints thus far. 4 Smithwicks, a harp, and a murphys. I totally dig Smithwick's. Done some shopping, did a lot of swearing as we got lost. Looked a lot at pretty landscapes. This is the most schizophrenic weather I've ever experienced, it's raining, it's sunny, it's raining, it's cloudy, it's sunny, it's breezy, it's raining, it's sunny. I can't complain though, it's as beautiful rainy and foggy as it is sunny. So we've been to Shannon, Bunratty, Cork, Kinsale, Blarney, Killarney, the Ring of Kerry.
May 21, 2003The day beforeWell Yoda is getting rather testy at all the work he has to do and it isn't fair that Boba Fett is making him do it at gunpoint. Sure he could use The Force but with Skeletor, Snape, and Malfoy watching over him, I think he's getting a little apprehensive.
May 14, 2003Boot to Sinead's headI’ll be heading off on my vacation to Ireland in about a week. I’m just finally getting the details of the trip given to me and where we’ll be staying. Thus far, we’re flying into Shannon, then traveling to Cork and Blarney Castle, moving on to Killarney where there’s a huge shopping outlet. After Killarney, we go off to my anticipated place, Doolin, we’ll be staying at O’Connors Farm House which I found out yesterday is of no relation to Gus O’Connors Pub (which isn’t even own by him anymore). Then we go to Connemara to stay at Ballynahinch Castle - I’m never going to want to leave from that place, I think even Yoda would attempt using the Force to get us to stay since it’s very close to Dagobah. From Connemara we travel northwards to Sligo, Lietrim (to visit dead relatives in the cemetery) and travel southwest to Wicklow and finally we’ll stay in Dublin for the last several days of the trip. It’s this part that I will really enjoy, hitting pubs and whatnot. If I was worried about money, I get 2 paychecks during the course of my trip and I’m thanking myself for having direct deposit. Yesterday I submitted to my professor a critique of the site, then went out with Shawnies and Pat for a couple of pints at Mahars. It’s a good thing we found this place before my trip, I have definitely warmed up my pallet for Ireland’s beer ways, I even have begun to enjoy the taste of beer at the proper drinking temperature. Tonight, I’ll be at Mahars again today then journey back to the apartment to watch the final episode of DC. Pat informed me that Angel’s coming back next season sans Carisma Carpenter but with the addition of Spike. I at least have one show to look forward to for next season, along with Six Feet Under. Tomorrow is the first day of our summer bowling league. It’s been at least 10 years since I was last on a league. I remember that 90210 was the big rage and was conversing with one of my partners about Jason Priestly and Luke Perry. I might be mixing up bowling events, but I remember that it was something like 12 years ago, the same amount of time as my last vacation that I took a flight somewhere.
May 07, 2003Stick a fork in me...... I'm done. Done with my project that is. Over 40+ hours later, I can rest assured that I have done my absolute best with the material given to me. I hand coded every page, gave them love, spoke to them, ripped off other copyrighted material, molded them into thumbnails. I validated every page of code, and have one page Bobby certified. It may not be the best thing on the face of the planet, but it certainly came a long way from a thought. I just feel bad for my partner who really didn't get to do most of the code. Dawson's, Angel, Mahar's and Tulip Fest, here I come (inebriated)!
